A Glimpse Into The World of Supercars

A Glimpse Into The World of Supercars
Many of us would be happy…no thrilled, at the prospect of owning a new Corvette, Mercedes or Escalade. We’ve come to know these as exceptional brands from some of the worlds most respected manufacturers. Cadillac, Audi, Mercedes and others are certainly luxury, premium automobiles, but there is a level of automobile that rises above these upscale nameplates.
Welcome to the world of super-cars. They are super fast, super expensive and created for the super rich.
Here are four with some impressive credentials.
The 2022 McLaren Artura
McLaren says its new Artura is the “next level of super-car” and they may be right. It has a super-sleek design with a minimal amount of body joints and a lightweight carbon-fiber frame. At just about 3,200 lbs., it is light for a super-car. Considering (wait for it) that it is a hybrid that is even more impressive. This McLaren hybrid will accelerate from a dead stop to 124 mph in just over 8 seconds. It is bargain-priced starting at just $225,000.
The 2021 Lamborghini Sian
This “hybridized” Lambo has a V-12 powertrain that produces an eye-widening 808 horsepower. It has a hexagonal design loaded with air intakes from almost every angle. It has an estimated top speed of 220 mph and will rocket from zero to 60 in just 2.5 seconds. Because only 82 are being produced worldwide, they are selling northward of $3 million each. They have already sold out.
Aston Martin Valkyrie
What do you get for your cool $3 million in an Aston Martin super-car? How about an unbelievable 1,100 plus horsepower with on-demand torque that redlines at 10,500 rpm and virtually disappears going from zero to 96 mph in just 2.5 seconds. Yes, it is street legal.
The Bugatti Chiron
Fast and beautiful. This French designed super-car is equipped with a 6-cylnder, 8.0 liter engine and four (count-em) turbochargers propelling its sleek design from zero to 96 is sub-2.5 seconds. If you want one of the world’s fastest sports super-cars it will set you back about $4.7 million.
You may not be driving a nearly $5 million Bugatti or even a quarter million dollar McLaren, but whatever takes you on your daily travels, you’ll want it properly insured.
