Tips for Enjoying a Beach Day

Tips for Enjoying a Beach Day
Beach days can be enjoyable and rejuvenating. They also can be a hassle. To help you make the most of your beach day, here are some tips that can help.
Don’t Overpack
One of the biggest mistakes families can make is overpacking. Lounge chairs, blankets, toys, coolers, picnic baskets, and towels can make for a challenging set up. Remember, you have to pack all that stuff back up at the end of the day, when you’ll be much less enthusiastic.
Check Tides
If you are going to the beach along the ocean or where tides affect the sea level, make sure you try to schedule a time when tides are low. This allows more room for beachgoers and a less crowded experience.
Bring Snacks or Refreshments
Rather than attempting to pack a full lunch or dinner, plan for snacks, light drinks, fresh fruit, and other lighter fare. This will be easier to pack and carry and will keep your crowd energized instead of sluggish.
Don’t Underestimate the Power of the Sun
Respect the sun by bringing a beach umbrella, suntan lotion, hats, sunglasses, and light clothing. If you or others are getting pink, it is probably already too late.
Limit Toys
Usually, a trowel, plastic beach bucket, frisbee, and perhaps a football are plenty to keep the family entertained. The main focus should be on the water and relaxing. Plus, it is amazing what you can create with a trowel, bucket, and a few pairs of hands.
Make Plans for Clean Up
Preparing for a quick clean up following your day at the beach can be almost as important as preparing for the beach. Bring extra clothes, a small towel or brush to help remove sand, and a bag for wet clothes and towels. An inexpensive plastic garden sprayer filled with water can work wonders in getting sand off of feet and arms. Baby powder also helps to remove moisture from the skin to allow sand to be easily wiped off.
Planning can make life just a bit more enjoyable and stress-free. That is also the case when you count on our independent insurance agents to help protect your auto, home, life, and business. Get the peace of mind you deserve with a no-cost, no-obligation insurance review and price quote.
