Auto Insurance Discounts You Didn’t Know About

If you’re shopping for auto insurance, it’s likely that more than one of the companies you’re checking into offer different discounts. It’s possible you qualify for some, but you don’t even know they exist yet. Ask your insurance company if they include these discounts today. Being aware of possible discounts can save you money on your auto premiums.
Maybe your car itself can save you money. . .
Do you have a hybrid vehicle? Anti-theft systems? Anti-lock brakes? Important safety features?
Maybe you can go the extra mile. . .
Have you done driver training? Have you done a defensive driving course? Do you put effort into practicing safe driving—resulting in being accident-free for 3-5 years?
Maybe certain additions can save you money . . .
Paperless billing? Paid-in-full premiums? How about auto-pay?
Maybe you’re a student. . .
Being a student alone can give you a discount, are also you a good student?
Owning a home, having multiple cars on your policy, being a senior, low mileage on your car. . .
Something important to consider is how much you can save by bundling your insurance. Putting your car insurance with your home or renters insurance can save you hundreds of dollars.
Look at all these different discounts, plus there’s more not mentioned here.
Keep in mind, all of this depends solely on what your carrier offers. If you answered yes to any of these things, it’s possible there are discounts you could be adding to your own existing insurance policy. Be sure to ask your agent next time you renew your policy.
